When you catch a fish, you don’t take a gallon of water with it. However when you catch an oyster, you also take its habitat. With all of the major storms to hit the Galveston Bay area in the last several years, oyster habitat has been dramatically reduced. Galveston Bay Foundation’s oyster shell recycling program was named a 2019 Conservation Wrangler by Texan By Nature. This is how it works.
